Personal History:
Earth to a Faerie is a broiling toxic wasteland of Banality. They cannot endure the place bare anymore, and so they wear human bodies like radiation suits against the world's poison. Hiding in plain sight, doomed to either go into Bedlam -- full insanity -- or to Unravel and lose their Faerie soul and all memories associated with being one, usually by their mid-twenties.
Tannusen is almost forty.
Born into a Troupe of criminally-inclined Faeries (and Others) posing as a moderately successful traveling carnival, Tannusen's upbringing was anything but standard from jump. Long before his Satyr father could be certain that Tannusen's soul was Faerie like his own, the young human was taught to kill, and steal, and... perform. In his general demeanor, in the big top, or in the bedroom... over a table... against a wall...
Masks upon masks, and only when he was nearly past the age for it did he finally go through Chrysalis -- the awakening of his Faerie soul to its nature. Thrown into the cover of brush, the young man sprang back out of it as a massive white tiger, pinning his very startled father down and biting off half of his face in one good chomp before panicking and running for it.
He spent a good part of his time on Earth running, after that.
At one point, he settled down for a time in Toronto, joined a Motley, killed a manticore and a jabberwocky for a Nocker village in the Dreaming, and took parts off the bodies to have implanted into himself. He helped assassinate a Duke, a Duchess, and a Count. Got his motorcycle turned into a badass unseelie kirin, married a sluagh, bought a gay bar with said sluagh and ran it as a very successful hotspot for other supernaturals...
And eventually had all the local Faeries trying to kill him for dealing more with other supernaturals than with his own kind. And because all the nobility-murder had left a power vacuum, and the people looking to fill it wanted to start shit with those on the fringe of polite Faerie society.
The guy who hung out with mages, vampires, werewolves, and ghosts more than his own kind, was a natural pick.
Many more adventures, a whole lot of shenanigans, one tragically dead husband later, and eventually...
Tannusen arrived on Genessia.
There, he made friends and occasionally ate someone, ran the second iteration of Velvet Lust (the above-mentioned gay bar), met an immortal catholic priest, fell for that grumpy little shit, stabbed Hastur right out of him with cold iron thereby shattering his own soul, had his soul stitched back together by his demon boyfriend using strings of said demon's own corrupted soul...
(He's fine, this is fine. It's fine.)
And now he's here.
And so is his bar, and his motorcycle-kirin.
Personality:
Tannusen can be extremely charming and well-spoken, which serves him well in getting into and out of dangerous -- and diplomatic -- situations. However, he can also be arrogant and domineering to those who get on his shit-list... and usually doesn't see people as people. He has a strong self-destructive streak and he has a hard time resisting trolling others, and often doesn't try to resist very hard, even if it's going to go very badly for him.
Raised as a leader of the disreputable, he takes very little guff from others as a rule. Attempts to put him in his place generally backfire spectacularly, as he cannot allow himself to fall into the old habits of a victim. He is sadistic in more than one sense; the few times anyone truly crossed him when he was with the Troupe, he made a horrific enough example of them to quell the temptations of others for years at a time. An Unseelie Faerie like Tannusen is not a dream, after all, but a nightmare.
And he is a tiger who will not be caged again.
His self-destructive impulses can get so bad that he sometimes feels driven to take suicidal risks, and pick fights with his face that he knows he will lose. He can't always leave well enough alone, and he doesn't like to make personal attachments. As charming as he can be on the surface, he's quite incredibly broken and crazy under that pretty smile.
He originally hails from a modern version of Earth where vampires, werewolves, mages, and faeries are all real and living -- hidden -- among mortal humanity. Ending up here won't even be the weirdest thing to ever happen to him.
Key themes: Freedom. Freedom from his father and his plans, freedom from the grasp of every noble Sidhe who's tried to make him their exotic pet, freedom from the constraints of Fae society, freedom from the politics of people scrabbling for power over each other... freedom from giving a shit in general. His default mode since running from his father had been homelessness with a motorcycle, wandering all of Canada (in the summer), the states, and Mexico. Genessia made him put down roots, and now he's torn them up and brought them here.
Main Motivation: See above. I think it fits for both.
Skills:
https://black-black-heart.dreamwidth.org/1407.html
Tannusen has upper and lower canine teeth carved from the fangs of the manticore he helped kill in the Dreaming, and his claws have been replaced similarly with those taken from a jabberwocky and sculpted down.
In World of Darkness, a bullet typically does Lethal damage, and being lit on fire does Aggravated damage.
...A bite from Tannusen in any form does Aggravated damage, and his claws do Lethal damage. His target has to be Enchanted to be affected that way, just like they have to be Enchanted for him to use magic on them.
Since his old MUSH +sheet doesn't give many details, here's the magic he can do:
All 5 spells from the Wayfare Art. He is a master of Wayfare.
All 5 spells from the Primal Art. (The 5th was learned on Genessia.)
The first 2 spells from the Pyretics Art.
The first spell from the Legerdemain Art.
The first 3 spells from the Naming Art, which may have also contributed to being a wanted Fae. He will be learning spells 4 and 5 of this, next. (Of course I won't let him 're-weave' anyone without player permission.)
Item:
Tannusen's glasses are the Treasure from his +sheet. His vision is perfectly fine without them, but with them he can use Spirit Link 1, World Sight. "See into other worlds, especially the world of the spirits, or the world of the dead."
He can't cast it himself, because he doesn't know even the basics of that Art, it's too well-guarded even for a commoner who stole the means to learn Naming.
Notes:
His ridiculously long soundtrack.
Art by meeee:
(A few of these are technically of the Dragon Age version but shh. Same appearance.)
